Richard Delgado Jr. | Executive Minister

Richard Delgado, Jr. is a lifelong Texan whose journey epitomizes service, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to supporting his community. Born and raised in Texas, Richard's dedication to his country began at the young age of 17 when he entered the delayed entry program of the United States Marine Corps. He served honorably for a decade, during which he faced numerous challenges, including personal injuries and the emotional toll of losing fellow Marines. These experiences forged his character, making him a symbol of determination and a testament to the power of recovery and adaptation to a “new normal.”

With the steadfast support of his wife, Natasha, a fellow combat Marine, and together they have three children, Dominic, Xavier, and Kalena, Richard dedicated himself to easing the journey of recovery and reintegration for other veterans. He found his calling in education, believing that empowering individuals through knowledge could lead to stronger communities and greater opportunities.

Richard's values, deeply instilled during his time as a Marine, have propelled him to become a national advocate for veterans. He has spoken on numerous panels, educating audiences on the importance of embracing military personnel and veterans within the community. His dedication to serving veterans has garnered recognition, including a feature in People Magazine in 2016, an appointment by Mayor Ron Nirenberg to the City of San Antonio Commission on Veterans Affairs, and co-founding one of the first Community Veteran Engagement Boards (CVEB) in the nation, which amplifies the veteran voice within the Department of Veterans Affairs. Additionally, he serves on several nonprofit boards and commissions both locally and statewide, including the Northside Educational Foundation, Rey Feo Consejo Educational Foundation, San Antonio Fiesta Commission, SCI San Antonio Chapter, and the Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans' Assistance Advisory Committee.

Academically, Richard holds an associate’s degree in management from Palo Alto Community College, bachelor’s degree in business management from Texas A&M University-San Antonio and a Master of Jurisprudence in Business Law and Compliance from Texas A&M University School of Law. His educational background, combined with his life experiences, equips him with the knowledge and insight to advocate effectively for all, ensuring they receive the support and resources they deserve.
